Thursday Thirteen--People I Would Love To Meet

I'm not a big fan girl who follows celebrities obsessively and such. There are people I would really like to meet. Just meet them. I have no idea what I'd say to them but, I'm hoping I'll think of something if the time ever comes.

People I Would Love To Meet

1…. Amy Lee (Evanescence).
That woman can SING. And from some of the interviews, she and I might have a few shared guilty musical secrets. (Abba?)

2. Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland).
I'd like to get to know her. She seems awesome.

3. Anne Coulter.
She's a woman that I think puts on a different face for the camera. She's funny as hell when she's not being rabid. I'd still like to meet her.

4. Patti O'Shea
She wrote "Eternal Nights" which I think is a great book. I comment on her blog, but I don't know if that makes me a "friend" or a "stalker". LOL. Anyway, I'd love to meet her in person.

5. Maya Angelou
That woman's poetry is so beautiful. I could listen to her all day.

6. Miss Snark
I don't want to know who she is. I would love to meet her and NOT KNOW I've met her. LOL. Anyone who can come up with the brilliant wit that she does isn't boring.

7. Condi Rice
There's a woman I'd love to have a conversation with. She's smart, she's knowledgeable and she articulate. I'd feel like an idiot, but I'd love to talk to her anyway.

8. Anne Lamott
She wrote "Bird By Bird" and another book "Operating Instructions" both of which have influenced my life in a big way. I love her. Some day, I'd love to thank her.

9. Kim Richey
She's a singer/songwriter that I've followed for a long time. She just doesn't fit in any category, so she'll never be on the top ten. Kim Richey started out country and wouldn't let them square peg her. I have a tremendous amount of respect for that kind of talent and conviction.

10. Christine Feehan
I love her Ghostwalker series. I'd love to pick her brain about the whole writing experience. Plus, she too lives in a "non metro" area and I'd like to know how she's made it.

11. Brian Herbert
The son of Frank Herbert, he's following his father's Dune series with his interpretation of Frank's vision. That's got to be difficult. I'd love to have a heart to heart with him. His execution of the Dune series has such a different feel than his father's and I'm curious to know how he views the whole thing. I wonder how difficult it is to carry the torch for the man who created "Dune".

12. All the people I've met online.
I've been lucky enough to have met Crystal Jordan face to face, but so many of my writing friends are people I've never seen. San Francisco 2008 I'm hoping they'll ALL be there.

13. Barrack Obama
I'm so curious about this man. Who is he? What does he really believe? And why? I'd like to really get to know the man. Not what Newsweek mag puts out about him. However, I'll have to be content with the media spin. LOL.
